I wonder where the locals get money from to shop and pay rent and pay mortgage and insurance… the way we keep hearing how people in Jamaica suffering and not getting jobs and no decent salaries. Well, obviously that’s not the case. Di people dem seem to be doing alright 🤔
I grew up in Steer Town this piece of land had old stone ruins chains everywhere, this was one of the most fertile area for ackee trees and tamarind. Why did they give this away cant wrap my head around jesasss mi loath PNP. They shouldn't have given this piece away too many watershed in this area
Somebody going to steal it. 😂
Beautiful Jamaica 🇯🇲. Great Scenery. Enjoy your Blessings. From Canada 🇨🇦 🙏🏿💛🌟✨️
Remove the gate make it more accommodating to enter. Developers need to do their homework for the different type of areas they are getting into. This had happened in May Pen town twice before, when the gates and guards were removed, not one shope was empty
So, when the highway was being built, the residents of the area wasn't concern about the environmental impact. Eventually the land will be developed either today or 20 years from now. When the deal was made the value of the land was a lot less. CHEC built the highway which helped increased the value of the land. A DEAL IS A DEAL.
I am looking forward to this development and I think it will be good for the country. Put the necessary environmental rules in place, and we should be good. I am sure there are various captured lands across JA that should be protected, and no one cares about them!
It look like a sweet heart deal, that's how they gave away the assets of indigenous business owners during the 90ts after the financial sector collapse
Not sure what happened
Not excited about Chinese development at all, when dem eat dem no leave crumbs ,plus only fe a drm I see building 2 massive towers
Yep
Yup… on the road now it is
Thanks
That's great news!
Yep
How r u?- thanks~interesting ,so long,:)
All good
A blessing great❤❤❤❤❤
Yep
You think?
Yep
This is my favorite song 🎵 and my dreamland Jamaica 🇯🇲 love ❤️ all my people😂
Blessings
What about the inside?
Next time
keep your anti-Jamaican self hating to yourself...
I think trans-Jamaicahighway is correct here. That access ramp should be abandoned and a plan be developed to expand the portmore leg of highway 2000 to link with east-west (Pj Patterson ) which who ease conjunction on Mandela highway.
More Access needed to Portmore
Stolen from America
Lol
I am so looking forward to see Two New Major Highways in Jamaica Likely Soon when Construction Starts in Mammee Bay.
Yep. Progress
Great video! I really like the new upgrade of the roundabout by Norman Manley International Airport. It would be even better if they painted the white Kingston and NMIA letters with the Jamaican 🇯🇲 colors. That would really make them pop! I can see people going over to take photos, just like with the Negril sign.
That's a good idea. They should have done that
Please remember to cover BUTCH Henrickson's new high tech bakery in Montego Bay...
The roundabout is not saying anything about Jamaica. I would prefer a statue of Andrew Holnes in the middle.
Lol
you whan pnp have a heart attack
How come you've never updated on Barnett Tech Park in Mobay.
Naw si me spend my last fi impress
Lol
The guy at 6:40 with his car parked in the only lane of the highway with his car door wide open while he is staring at nothing is so crazy but so common on the highways in Jamaica. It is scary how Jamaicans don't understand the basics of highway safety. What happened to common sense. Sadly, common sense is not common on the Jamaican highways.
Let me look again. Never noticed
HONESTLY I THINK THE SIGNS COULD HAVE BEEN MORE MODERN IN THIS TIME OF AGE THE LETTERS COULD HAVE LIGHTS WHOEVER COME UP WITH THE IDEA SHOULD DID SOME RESEARCH
Lights that change colors
@@drivinginjamaica yap
@@drivinginjamaicasomething like Montego Bay sign that change colors multiple colors
This is a good job. Simple and very attractive, good use of space and material.
Yuh wrong
What is it
Rockfort area
Yep
I told you the signs would remain white!
Yep
What is the population of Montego Bay???
Don't think it reach 300,000
@@drivinginjamaica There is a new development - (only the entrance road done so far) - with lots for sale on the other side of the road of Holiday Inn. As for Price Smart, it depends what they sell. There is no electronics or hardware store at Whitter Village. You have to go into town for that. So if they go for that plus a bakery and the usual wide assortment of bulk items they should do very well. Plus, I assume they expect traffic from Falmouth (roughly 20 to 30 minutes away).
Yes should do very well
Now let the proper beautification from Harbour View Roundabout into Downtown Kingston begin. It does not have to wait on the proposed boardwalk. Commercial entities along the way can pitch in. They dont have to wait on the annual beach clean up.
Yep
They can work with the boardwalk plan.
I am just curious did the Government say it had plans to beautify Harbour View Roundabout to Downtown ? I would be glad if this is true because it is badly needed as the area is a eyesore.
@@marmackk Yh there is a plan but it ago cost billions plus I suspect its in the planning phase, the idea is to turn the entire airport to Kingston corridor into a tourist zone with restuaraunts and shops and culture exposure
@@raycapitalforex Oh ok thanks for the info
Please cover the Racquet Club condominium tower being built in the Red Hills/Upper Deck area of Montego Bay...thanx...
Yes man on the list
With all this construction ,They need to expand the Steel factory also cause it has to meet the demand for steel .
Jamaica does not have a steel factory. Do they. I think they import steel
Steel company closed a long time ago? Tank well was importing steel from Brazil and selling it cheaper than the steel company 😊
A suggestion. It would be more beneficial if you waited at least 3 to 4 months to report on the development then hopefully there would be something to show your viewers.
What will they be building in Portmore?
Expanding thr store
Yep. Agreed
The government need to spend the money and beautify that stretch of road....norman manley blvd ...thats the entry way to the country it should definitely look better than that....
This is $8 Billion is not government money
I meant spend the money from the government purse bro not the money for the cement company improvrment project money....just making a general statement about something that they are missing...
Trinidad and mexico money dat...jamaica get jobs taxes and the scrapings from the profits .
So basically the same as any country with multi-national companies.
Yep
I drove by the building about a month ago and there was work being done on the 1st 3 or 4 floors. The overall work on the building has definitely slowed down.
Yep slow
This is not progress..........the toll money going to chinese...........what is jamaica producing...............??????? ..............the people still hungry n no knowledge of government wickedness.....
No man. This is progress
Jamaica 🇯🇲 is developing like wow have never seen so many construction 🏗 going all over Jamaica 🇯🇲 at one time the owner of the pinnacle 4 condos will start new building in portmore
Yep a lot of development
It is possible that all three hotel buildings are being done at the same time. Use the drone and you will see for yourself.
No this just The Unico
The third building that is the casino is under construction too
@@drivinginjamaica I saw a recent video on another channel that the three projects are being done at the same time. UVC TV Jamaica
I will double check
I will Double Check. The hard rock was closer to the other hotel on the strip. The land has not been cleared yet
Jamaican trades men missing out all because of the under performance of our local contractors
Hopefully they step up
People can say all they want about this current administration but if we are to totally honest, this is the most amount of development ever to take place in Jamaica than any other time in our history. I am very impressed the pace and progress taking place in our beautiful country. I would advise Jamaican contractors and citizens to start getting serious about their work and owning a piece of the rock before it gets too expensive to do so. Outsiders are see opportunities some of us refuse to see or too blind to do. Our economic fortunes are changing for the better finally. Time we seize the moment and stop with the lazy mentality.
We welcome the development but if we don't saturate the site with Jamaican trades men with good pay we won't maximize the benefits
Alot of Developments
Yep
In the early days you only found the United States hotel chains in Jamaica? The present Administration should thank PJ Patterson for getting all these Spanish investors to come to Jamaica and build different hotel chains. There's an article on the Jamaica Information Service website: PM Patterson got Spanish Award March 25, 2006. His Majesty Juan Carlos 1, The King of Spain, has decided to bestow on PJ Patterson the award of the Grand Cross of the National Order of Civil Merit. The Prime Minister was also credited with helping to deepen relations between Spain and Jamaica by encouraging Spanish investment in Jamaica. 😊 This news spread to all the Spanish colonies in Mexico and the Caribbean. 😊
The same thing happened in other black countries but the money they are making from all these developments don't stay in Jamaica and the workers are under paid . I would rather the same land be put to other uses..
Check along Langston Road between Deanery Road and Mountain View Avenue. I understand that Chinesse contractors are engaged on a construction project along the way.
Is that the deanery towers apartments
@@drivinginjamaica l am not sure. Only heard that construction is taking place.
We will check on it
I hope they are safe.
Yes man. Building code
I agree with them to register a new company for the new leg of the highway. Why should they use funds from Trans Jamaica to maintain the new leg? The old road was never maintained prior to this new highway. We pay road tax and gas tax that was supposed to be used for maintaining roads. Where are those money?
It's very strange. More about thus deal than they are saying
@@drivinginjamaica it is legal to form new companies to handle new business.
Yes
How many floors will this project be???
20
@@drivinginjamaica Are you sure?
I have heard 20+
That's why the foreign workers like Chinese & Spanish them move faster in construction, work both day & night. Unlike our local contractors, them move slow and only work during daytime.
lol.
Have to say the unions have a lot to do with that as well. While I agree that all workers should be treated fairly, I think the unions wait until people are hired then they start making trouble. They collect these dues but do not do much to prepare a workforce, they depend on the government for that yet they want to have a say. Their work rules are not conducive to efficient work. I strongly believe the jamaican woorkers are quite capable and have a lot of pride but have to folow union rules vs. there own personal convictions and pride to work hard to get the job done on time. Foreign contractors look at that attitude carefully. It typically takes a long time to onboard union workers and then they are pidgeon-holed into specialist task and leave very little room for job enrichment.
Daytime ? You mean 10am to 12pm then two hour lunch break 2-5pm and half day on Fridays 😂
Lol
Did not know construction workers are ina union.
We have Dominican and Venezuelan workers out here...even had workers from St. Vincent here. I wish these Spanish companies used more Jamaican labour.
Why so they can smoke weed and play dominoes all day and project drag on for years
@@DaydreamingTrack Be merciful...we work under proper supervision.
Not sure about the dominoes but they smoke lol
They used Jamaican workers also
Lol
Yes Jamaican contractor can they just need more experience working with other's about five or six years experience we are hard working people we just need experience that's all a lot of us go over seas and become successful don't be to hard on us ok thank you
Yep.
